Aimaq’s Big Double-Double Not Enough For UVU Against Cal Baptist

SALT LAKE CITY – Fardaws Aimaq posted a massive double-double but it wasn’t enough for the Utah Valley Wolverines against the California Baptist Lancers.
The Lancers hosted the Wolverines on Saturday, January 15.
UVU fell to Cal Baptist, 75-73.
The Wolverines battled all game against the Lancers. After the opening 20 minutes of action, the two teams were tied at 35-35 going into the halftime break.

UVU and Cal Baptist continued to clash over the remainder of the contest.

Trey Farrer hit a game-tying bucket for Utah Valley with 1:13 left in the second half.
Cal Baptist came out on top after a battle at the free throw line during the final minute of game time.
Utah Valley finished the game shooting 45.6 percent from the field, including 33.3 percent on three-pointers.
Aimaq led the Wolverines with 27 points, 18 rebounds, four assists, and one block.

With the loss, the Wolverines fell to 11-6, including a 2-3 record in Western Athletic Conference play.
Utah Valley’s next game is at home against the UT Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros on Thursday, January 20 at 6 p.m. (MDT). The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
