SALT LAKE CITY – Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert and forward Rudy Gay have cleared the NBA’s health and safety protocols on Friday morning.
It’s big news for the Jazz as they are one step closer to get some paint presence back in the lineup. Utah had to play the Cavaliers on Wednesday without any big men with Gobert, Hassan Whiteside and Udoka Azubuike all in the NBA’s health and safety protocols.
Gobert missed the last five games with the Jazz going 1-4 during that stretch. They won the first game without him against Denver before losing the next four contests.
Gay missed the last two games in losses to Detroit and Cleveland.

Some players still miss games as they return to conditioning so that will be worth watching for Sunday against the Nuggets.

It’s uncertain if Gobert and Gay will be ready to play on Sunday.
The Jazz have Friday and Saturday without games before heading to Denver on Sunday to face the Nuggets. They will then face the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday, January 17.
Both games can be heard on The Zone Sports Network.
