Former RSL Midfielder Albert Rusnak Signs With Seattle Sounders FC

SANDY, Utah – Last week, midfielder Albert Rusnak sent a farewell out to RSL fans and now he has signed with Seattle Sounders FC on Thursday.
The Seattle Sounders posted a video on their Twitter account saying that “#RusnakWatch has ended.”

“We are very excited to welcome such a quality player like Albert to Seattle,” said Sounders FC General Manager & President of Soccer Garth Lagerwey. “At 27, he is in the prime of his career and already knows our league very well. We’re confident his addition puts our roster in a very good position to succeed in 2022.”
Rusnák concluded his fifth season as a member of Real Salt Lake in 2021. During the 2021 season, Rusnák broke a club record by playing in all but 15 minutes throughout the regular season notching 3,045 minutes.
Immediately following the Western Conference defeat to Portland, Rusnák informed KSL Sports that he was eager to sign a new deal with Real Salt Lake and return in 2022.
During his five seasons with RSL, Rusnák 41 goals on 324 shots, including 130 shots on goal. He added 39 assists in 140 matches, including 135 starts.
