BYU Basketball Fan Hits Half-Court Shot For Cash
PROVO, Utah – During a first half timeout in the BYU basketball game against Pacific, one Cougar fan scored some cash with a half-court shot.
This season, the Qualtrics Half Court shot has been taking place at every home BYU game. Each time someone misses, the total cash goes up. On Thursday night, the total jumped up to $8,000 and one lucky fan, Colton Potter, stepped up and won the cold hard cash.
Just see for yourself. The shot was nothing but net, energizing a Marriott Center crowd that was pretty much in a lull during a grinder of a game between BYU and Pacific.
It’s the first time half-court make since February 22, 2020, during the first half of the Gonzaga game. That one was also worth $8,000. Last season, there wasn’t a half-court shot contest due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The prize total will now go back to $1,000 for the next home game this Saturday against Saint Mary’s. Including the Saint Mary’s game, BYU has seven home games remaining.
All BYU basketball games can be heard on your legacy home of the Cougars, KSL NewsRadio (102.7 FM, 1160 AM, and the KSL NewsRadio app).
