SLC-Based Speedskater Ethan Cepuran Makes First Olympic Team

SALT LAKE CITY – SLC-based speedskater Ethan Cepuran made his first Olympic team after winning the 5,000 meter championship in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Ethan Cepuran finished the race in six minutes, 16.54 seconds, edging out the runner-up by just four one-hundredths of a second.
Team USA is taking shape with more speed skating on Wednesday night with more athletes looking to punch their ticket to Beijing.

Salt Lake City native Mia Manganello Kilburg secured a spot with a win in the 3,000 meter. As of the time this story was published, 19 athletes with ties to the state of Utah will be heading to Beijing, with more still expected to qualify over the next few weeks.
