Utah WR Britain Covey Flies For 97-Yard Kick Return During Rose Bowl Game

PASADENA, Calif. – Utah Utes wide receiver and returner Britain Covey took a kick return to the house during the Rose Bowl Game against Ohio State.
The No. 11 Utes played the No. 6 Buckeyes at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California on Saturday, January 1.
With 8:17 left in the second quarter, Covey caught an Ohio State kickoff near Utah’s goal line before running 97 yards to the end zone.
It was the Provo, Utah native’s first career kick return for a touchdown.
Covey’s second touchdown of the game gave Utah a 28-14 lead.

After the score, Covey had one catch for 19 yards and a touchdown. He added one score on three kick returns with an average of 46.0 yards per return.

Covey entered the game with 49 catches for 480 yards and two touchdowns this season.
During his five seasons at Utah, Covey has 182 receptions for 1,996 yards and 11 touchdowns.
He also returned the ball as a specialist on punt and kick returns for 1,728 yards and four touchdowns before Saturday’s bowl game.
The Rose Bowl Game between Utah and Ohio State is broadcast on ESPN and 700 AM.
