Micah Bernard Reaches Out To Snag Touchdown During Rose Bowl Game

PASADENA, Calif. – Utah Utes running back Micah Bernard reached out for a fingertip touchdown catch during the Rose Bowl Game against Ohio State.
The No. 11 Utes played the No. 6 Buckeyes at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California on Saturday, January 1.
Bernard started the game at cornerback on defense before playing running back on offense.
With 3:28 left in the first quarter, Rising tossed a 12-yard ball to the back corner of the end zone. Bernard reached out with a full extension of his arms to snag the pass while also getting a foot down in bounds.

Benard’s catch gave the Utes a 14-0 lead.
The touchdown capped an eight-play, 67-yard drive that took 4:47 off the clock.
After the throw, Rising was 6/8 passing for 83 yards and two touchdowns. Rising entered the game having thrown for 2,279 yards, 18 touchdowns, and five interceptions this season.
Following the catch, Bernard had two receptions for 15 yards and a touchdown. Bernard arrived in Southern California with 84 carries for 492 yards and two touchdowns on the ground this season. He added 28 receptions for 261 yards and one touchdown out of the backfield.
