Report: Ohio State Returns Thousands Of Tickets For Rose Bowl Against Utah

SALT LAKE CITY – The Ohio State Buckeyes returned thousands of tickets from their 20,000 allotment for the Rose Bowl Game against the Utah Utes, according to The Columbus Dispatch.
The No. 11 Utes played the No. 6 Buckeyes in “The Granddaddy of Them All” on New Year’s Day.
On Thursday, December 23, Joey Kaufman of The Columbus Dispatch wrote that Ohio State returned about 7,000 of its allotment of 20,000 Rose Bowl tickets.
There’s been a big variance in ticket demand for the Rose Bowl.
Ohio State sold approximately 13,000 out of its 20,000 allotted tickets.

Kaufman reported the following:
“In an email, associate athletic director for ticketing and premium seating Brett Scarbrough said the school had sold approximately 13,000 of its allotted 20,000 tickets for the Jan. 1 bowl game against Utah. The rest have been returned to the Rose Bowl.”
One day before The Columbus Dispatch’s report, Utah Athletics announced that more than 32,000 tickets for the Rose Bowl were sold through the Utah Ticket Office.

The capacity of the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California is 90,888. On New Year’s Day, the majority of red in the crowd with be worn by Utah football fans.
Utah plays Ohio State on Saturday, January 1 at 3 p.m. (MDT) on ESPN.
