SALT LAKE CITY – Donovan Mitchell is the star of his own new Adidas commercial.
The Utah Jazz guard has been an Adidas athlete since leaving Louisville and has his own signature shoes with the company, the D.O.N. Issues 1, 2, and 3.
D.O.N. which stands for Determination Over Negativity is the theme of Mitchell’s newest ad that shows the guard’s meteoric rise from an athletic but undersized high school athlete, to an unheralded college prospect, to one of the best players in the world.

The ad is narrated by rapper Royce da 5’9”, and will air locally and nationally during local broadcasts of Mitchell’s games in the weeks ahead.
Mitchell and the Jazz will be highlighted during the upcoming NBA Christmas Day showcase when they are scheduled to face the Dallas Mavericks in the annual nightcap.
There are two different versions of the spot, the original 30-second clip featured above and a shorter, 15-second clip as seen below.
According to a release from the company, Adidas Basketball teamed up with their signature athletes, including Mitchell, to provide 1,500 basketballs to local community centers across the country.
Of those, 350 basketballs went to kids in the Salt Lake City community through the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah and The Sharing Place, giving them access to the game.
In June, Mitchell teamed with Adidas to hold a special ribbon-cutting ceremony at The Children’s Village in his native New York where he and his family refurbished the outdoor basketball courts and planted a garden in honor of his grandmother, Blossom Wright, who passed in 2020.
