2022 Tour Of Utah Cycling Event Canceled

SALT LAKE CITY – Medalist Sports announced that the 2022 Tour of Utah will no longer be pursued “despite ardent effort to continue” the cycling event.
The announcement was made on Wednesday, December 22.
“On-going sponsor and host community discussions have been positive; however, not strong enough to support a viable effort to meet our collective expectations,” Owner and President of Medalist Sports Chris Aronhalt said in a statement. “While disappointed, Medalist Sports is grateful for the opportunity and cherishes the Tour of Utah’s legacy.”

In addition to the cancellation of the 2022 event, Medalist Sports said that it has requested that the Tour of Utah be removed from the international cycling calendar.
The Larry H. Miller Group of Companies first started the cycling race in 2004.
Levi Leipheimer and Tom Danielson own the most Tour of Utah wins with two victories apiece.
The 2020 and 2021 Tour of Utah races were canceled amid the coronavirus pandemic.
