SUU’s Six-Game Win Streak Snapped As T-Birds Falls in Ann Arbor

SALT LAKE CITY – The Southern Utah Thunderbirds saw their six-game win streak snapped in an 87-50 rout by the Michigan Wolverines.
Southern Utah played Michigan in Ann Arbor on Saturday, December 18.
The Wolverines led from start to finish. A 34-6 first half run allowed Michigan to build a 49-20 halftime lead.

Poor three-point shooting doomed the Thunderbirds as they went 4-23 from beyond the arc. They finished the ball game shooting 32.8 percent overall.
Dre Marin was the only Thunderbird to reach double-figure scoring, finishing with 12 points. He also led SUU on the boards, pulling down five rebounds. Maizen Fausett collected nine points, shooting 4-7 from the field.
Southern Utah returns home and will host in-state rival Dixie State in its final non-conference game of the regular season on Wednesday, December 22. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. (MDT).
