BYU RB Tyler Allgeier Runs In Hat Trick TD During Record-Breaking Day

SHREVEPORT, La. – BYU running back Tyler Allgeier fought his way across the goal line for his third touchdown during a record-breaking day against the UAB Blazers.
The No. 13 Cougars played the Blazers in the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl at Independence Stadium in Shreveport, Louisiana on Saturday, December 18.
With 14:33 remaining in the fourth quarter, Allgeier battled his way into the end zone for a one-yard touchdown run.

The run gave BYU its first lead of the game, 28-24.
Allgeier’s third touchdown capped an eight-play, 52-yard drive that lasted 2:53.

After the score, Allgeier had 24 carries for 186 yards and three touchdowns. He added two catches for 12 yards.
During the third quarter, the Fontana, California native became BYU’s single-season leader in carries and rushing yards.

Allgeier entered the game with 249 carries for 1,414 yards and 20 touchdowns.
