SALT LAKE CITY – Former Utah State and current Sacramento Kings center Neemias Queta swatted a pair of shots during the opening minute of his NBA debut.

Queta played for the first time of his rookie campaign during Sacramento’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Kings hosted the Grizzlies on Friday, December 17.

Queta checked into the game late in the second quarter.

When he stepped onto the court, Queta became the first basketball player from Portugal to appear in an NBA game.

During the final seconds of the first half, Queta swatted two attempts by the Grizzlies.

Queta’s rejections helped the Kings trail by only two points at the halftime break, 58-56.

Sacramento selected Queta with the No. 39 overall pick during the second round of the 2021 NBA Draft.

Before getting picked by the Kings, the center was a standout player for the USU Aggies.

During his time with Utah State, Queta averaged 13.2 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 2.5 blocks per contest in 86 games.

Sacramento’s game against Memphis is broadcast on NBA League Pass.
