Governor Cox Declares 1.1.22 As ‘University Of Utah Football Pac-12 Champions Day’

SALT LAKE CITY – Utah governor Spencer Cox declared January 1, 2022, as University Of Utah Football Pac-12 Champions Day in honor of the Utes’ success this season.
Governor Cox made the declaration Friday, December 17.

Utah football shared more on the announcement in a video posted via the team’s Twitter account.

The Utes captured their first Pac-12 title after beating the then No. 10 Oregon Ducks played in the Pac-12 Conference Championship game at Allegiant Stadium on Friday, December 3.
Utah dominated Oregon, 38-10.
The victory earned the Utes an automatic bid to play in the Rose Bowl Game.
Utah currently owns a 10-3 record and looks to pick up win No. 11 on New Year’s Day.
The No. 11 Utes will play the No. 6 Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday, January 1 at 3:00 p.m. (MDT) on ESPN.
