SALT LAKE CITY The Utah Valley Wolverines overcame a slow start to douse the Bethesda Flames, improving to an 8-3 record in a 107-65 win at the UCCU Center in Orem, Utah.

Trailing 19-9 early in the game, the Wolverines used a 10-0 run to close the gap before heading into halftime with a 47-35 lead.

Fardaws Aimaq notched his NCAA-leading eighth double-double of the year in less than a half of play. He finished with four dunks on his way to 20 points and 16 rebounds in only 27 minutes.

Four Wolverines scored in double figures, led by Le’Tre Darthard’s 30 points on 7-12 shooting and a perfect 12-12 at the free throw line. Darthard left the game midway through the second half after taking a hard fall on a drive to the basket.

Blaze Nield had a career night, matching his career-high of nine assists while also scoring seven points.

Four Flames tied for a team-high 11 points.

Utah Valley has one more game before the holiday break, as they set their sights on the Washington Huskies in Seattle on Tuesday, December 21. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. (MDT). The game will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Network.
