MLS Releases List Of Real Salt Lake Players Eligible For Charlotte FC Expansion Draft

SALT LAKE CITY – Major League Soccer has released the names of Real Salt Lake players available for selection ahead of the Charlotte FC expansion draft scheduled for Tuesday, December 14 at 5 p.m.
Real Salt Lake has a list of 10 players, 9 of which are out of contract with the club, available for selection.

- Luiz, Everton
- Martinez, Douglas
- Meram, Justin
- Morgan, Ashtone
- Portillo, Justin
- Powder, Noah
- Putna, Andrew
- Ramirez, Jeizon
- Toia, Donny
Datković, 28, is the only Real Salt Lake player under contract. The remaining nine players are all out of contract and are not on the 2022 Real Salt Lake roster.
Interestingly, Justin Meram and Everton Luiz, two players that played significant roles in Real Salt Lake’s playoff journey are available for selection. Immediately following the 2021 season, Real Salt Lake announced a number of roster decisions ahead of the 2022 season. Meram and Luiz were two players in which the club had not made a decision, they were joined by Anderson Julio and Albert Rusnák.

Charlotte FC will be allowed to select up to five players from the list of league players. Once Charlotte FC drafts an eligible member, they will not be able to draft another player from that club’s list.
