Jazz Sweep Four Game Road Trip With Win Over Wizards

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz swept their four-game road trip with a 123-98 win over the Washington Wizards.
With the win, the Jazz have now won seven games in a row, the longest streak in the NBA.
Donovan Mitchell led the Jazz with 28 points while Rudy Gobert had 20 points and 11 rebounds in the win.
First Quarter
As has been the case throughout the Jazz win streak, Mitchell has been the spark to get the offense going.
The All-Star guard scored 10 of the Jazz’s first 14 points, outscoring the Wizards by himself to open the game.

However, the Jazz second unit struggled to score with Mitchell off the floor, allowing the Wizards to keep the game close.
After one, the Jazz led the Wizards 28-24 as they connected on just 39 percent of their field goals and 30 percent of their threes.
Second Quarter
The Jazz stars continued to play well on the offensive end, but the supporting staff struggled.
Non-Mitchell and Gobert starters were a combined 3-13 shooting in the first half while Jordan Clarkson was just 2-8.

Defensively, the Jazz limited Bradley Beal to just two points in the first half but they were hurt by offensive rebounds which gave the Wizards 13 second-chance points.
At the half, the Jazz trailed the Wizards 51-50.
Third Quarter
The Jazz have followed their recent pattern of finding themselves in close games at the half and then blowing out their opponent in the third and fourth quarters.
Washington struggled with the Jazz length in the third, led by a strong three point, five rebound, three block quarter from Hassan Whiteside to shut down the Wizards’ second unit.

Fourth Quarter
The Jazz never let the Wizards get back in the game fourth quarter as they finally started to fully capitalize on their strong defense.
Whiteside recorded his second consecutive double-double scoring 18 points and grabbing 14 rebounds as he’s returned from his glute injury playing his best basketball of the season.
