Jazz Guard Donovan Mitchell Fakes Out Wolves’ McDaniels For Easy Layup

SALT LAKE CITY – Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell faked out Jaden McDaniels before making an easy layup during Utah’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Wolves hosted the Jazz at Target Center on Wednesday, December 8.
With 1:26 remaining in the third quarter, Mitchell jab-stepped towards the paint and got Jaden McDaniels to bit on the move. The step opened the lane for a wide-open layup by the two-time NBA All-Star.
Mitchell’s shot gave Utah a 91-79 lead.

At the end of the third quarter, the Jazz owned a 95-81 lead.
Mitchell had a game-high 31 points on 12-21 shooting, including 4-11 from distance. He added four rebounds, one assist, and a block during his first 30 minutes of action.

It’s the fifth-year guard’s four straight contest with 30 points or more. The mark ties the longest streak of 30-plus point games in Mitchell’s career.

This season, Mitchell is averaging 24.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game.
