Weber State Holds Off Portland State, Improves To 8-0

SALT LAKE CITY – The Weber State men’s basketball team used a big first half to hold off the Portland State Vikings for their eighth win of the season.
The Wildcats hosted the Vikings on Saturday, December 4.
Weber State beat Portland State, 80-69.

During the opening 20 minutes of action, the Wildcats outscored the Vikings by double-digits and took a 41-29 lead into the locker room at halftime.
After the break, the Vikings battled back-and-forth with the Wildcats. Portland State outscored Weber State by one point in the second half but was unable to overcome the early deficit.
Weber State finished the game shooting 41.5 percent overall and 36.0 percent from beyond the arc.

Four Wildcats reached double figures in scoring.
Seikou Sisoho Jawara led Weber State with 17 points on 5-10 field goals. Zahir Porter added 16 points off the bench.

With the win, the Wildcats improved to 8-0 this season, including a 2-0 record in Big Sky games.
Weber State’s next game is on the road against the Washington State Cougars on Wednesday, December 8 at 8 p.m. (MDT).
