SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz made a season-high 27 threes and knocked off the Boston Celtics 137-130.

Donovan Mitchell led the Jazz with 34 points and six assists as the Jazz moved to 15-7 on the season.

The Celtics got 37 points from Jayson Tatum but fell to 12-11 on the season.

First Quarter

The Jazz opened the game by knocking down four threes between Donovan Mitchell and Mike Conley to jump out to a 14-2 lead.

The three-point shooting has been a big lift for the team over the last two games after making a season-high 20 in Monday’s win over the Trail Blazers and 39 combined in their last two outings.

The Jazz knocked down 9-13 from downtown to open the game against Boston and shot 12-18 overall.

After one, the Jazz led the Celtics 38-25.

Second Quarter

The Jazz scored just five points through the first six minutes of the second half and gave up a 12-0 Boston run, allowing the Celtics to trim the lead to just three midway through the quarter.

The Jazz continued to turn the ball over, most of them forced by the Celtics creating live-ball turnovers that resulted in easy baskets going the other way.

A big question heading into the game is how Royce O’Neale would look after his last two games, but he played well in the first half adding nine points and six rebounds.

Al Horford had 19 points at the half, and the Jazz led Boston 59-56 at the break.

Third Quarter

The Celtics took their first lead of the game in the third quarter on a Marcus Smart layup to give them a 73-71 lead with seven minutes left in the quarter.

After a strong first quarter defensively, the Jazz struggled to stay in front of the Celtics ballhandlers who easily got into the paint and either finished at the rim, or kicked out to open shooters.

Neither team was all that interested in playing defense in the third quarter as both the Jazz and Celtics gave up 41 points in the frame.

After three, the Jazz led Boston 100-97.

Fourth Quarter

Every time the Jazz built a lead, the Celtics had a quick answer.

The Jazz took a 109-104 lead on back-to-back Joe Ingles threes, but answered with a 9-0 run to take a 113-109 lead with 6:13 left to play.

Quin Snyder went back to his starters midway through the fourth quarter with the team trailing by four and they answered the call.

Mitchell took over down the stretch scoring eight points in the fourth quarter and the Jazz beat the Celtics 133-127.
