SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah State Aggies earned a spot in the Mountain West Conference championship game and will play the San Diego State for the league trophy.
The Aggies entered the title game having won six of their last seven games. The Aztecs are currently on a four-game winning streak.
USU clinched a spot in the championship game after defeating the New Mexico Lobos and receiving some help from SDSU during the final week of the regular season. The Aztecs beat the Boise State Broncos to clinch their division. Boise State’s loss opened the door for USU with a victory over New Mexico.
The winner of Utah State vs. San Diego State will receive an invitation to the Los Angeles Bowl.

ESPN’s Football Power Index gives Utah State a 25.6 percent chance at upsetting the ranked Aztecs.
