SALT LAKE CITY – Now that the Pac-12 will not have a representative in the College Football Playoff, the bowl projections have changed for Utah.
After a 38-7 over the Ducks on Saturday, Utah knocked out the Pac-12’s only chance to get a team in the conference to the CFP.
Now, Utah, Oregon, Oregon State and Washington State are all trying to earn a berth to the Rose Bowl.
The Utes only have two bowl options now and it’s quite simple on what needs to happen in order to find out where fans will be booking their travel. Utah is already in the Pac-12 Championship game, regardless of the outcome against Colorado on Friday afternoon.
If Utah wins the Pac-12 Championship on December 3 in Las Vegas, they will be going to the Rose Bowl. If the Utes lose in the title game, they will be playing in the Alamo Bowl.

Here is what the national media thinks of the bowl future for Utah:
Rose Bowl
Erick Smith of USA Today, Bill Bender of Sporting News, Brett McMurphy of Action Network, Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach of ESPN.com, and Steve Lassan of Athlon Sports all have Utah facing Michigan in the Rose Bowl. That would be Utah’s first appearance in the Rose Bowl in program history.
Jerry Palm of CBSSports.com has the Oregon Ducks facing Michigan in the Rose Bowl.

Alamo Bowl
Jerry Palm of CBSSports.com is the only national outlet out of the six that KSL Sports pulled up that had Utah playing in the Alamo Bowl. Palm has the Utes facing Baylor in the game that Utah played in back in 2019, where they lost to the Texas Longhorns.
The other outlets that have Utah in the Rose Bowl have also put Oregon in the Alamo Bowl with the exception of ESPN.com, where they put the Ducks in the Fiesta Bowl. Bonagura put UCLA in the Alamo Bowl against Oklahoma, while Schlabach has Arizona State facing the Sooners in San Antonio.
The other opponents for Oregon in the Alamo Bowl also includes Baylor.
