SALT LAKE CITY – Real Salt Lake will begin their playoff run on Tuesday night on the road against the Seattle Sounders and will have to do so without their captain.
Real Salt Lake will miss captain Albert Rusnak, who tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the match against the Sounders, the team confirmed with KSL Sports. Rusnak recently returned from international duty with Slovakia.
He posted the news on his Instagram page.
“Bad news today, guys, “Rusnak wrote in his post. “Unfortunately, I’ve tested positive for COVID. It’s hard to believe I’m not there with the boys in Seattle. But I know this group. Everyone works & fights for each other. I have all the confidence in the world we will get the job done! I’ll be back as soon as health permits.”
