SALT LAKE CITY – Defense led to offense for Utah Jazz forward Rudy Gay during the opening quarter against the Memphis Grizzlies.
The Jazz hosted the Grizzlies at Vivint Arena on Monday, November 22.
With 2:00 remaining in the first quarter, Gay swatted a jump shot attempt by Memphis’ Jaren Jackson Jr.
The rejection created a fast break for Utah.
Jazz guard Mike Conley dished the ball back to a running Gay, who laid the ball into the bucket for two points.
Gay’s play stretched Utah’s lead to 26-23.
