Utah State Beats Oklahoma To Win 2021 Myrtle Beach Invitational

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah State men’s basketball team defeated the Oklahoma Sooners to win the 2021 Myrtle Beach Invitational.
The Aggies and Sooners played at The HTC Center in Conway, South Carolina on Sunday, November 21.
USU beat OU, 73-70.

The three-point margin earned the Aggies the 2021 Myrtle Beach Invitational trophy and their fourth straight win, including three consecutive victories at the tournament.
It was a back-and-forth close game between the Aggies and Sooners.
Neither team led by more than seven points at any point in the contest.
With five minutes remaining, the Aggies trailed by six points before battling back.
At the 1:46 mark in the second half, USU’s Brock Miller connected on a three-pointer to give the Aggies a 67-66 lead.

With 30 seconds to go, Miller drained another triple to push Utah State’s lead to four points.

Justin Bean sunk three free throws during the final 15 seconds to secure victory for the Aggies. Bean led Utah State with 24 points and 19 rebounds.
The USU forward was honored as the tourney’s MVP for his performance throughout the week.

Utah State finished the game shooting 41.8 percent from the field, including 26.9 percent from beyond the arc. The Aggies limited the Sooners to 42.2 percent shooting overall and 27.3 percent from distance.
With the win, the Aggies improved to a 4-1 record this season.
Utah State’s next game is against the UT Arlington Mavericks on Saturday, November 27 at 7 p.m. (MDT). The game will air on The Zone Sports Network (1280 AM).
