Utah State Sees Five-Game Winning Streak Snapped After Loss To Wyoming

LOGAN, Utah – The Utah State Aggies struggled on Senior Night as they saw their five-game winning streak end with a 44-17 loss to Wyoming on Saturday night.

Logan Bonner completed just 19 of his 40 pass attempts for 181 yards and two touchdowns. Calvin Tyler Jr. racked up 109 yards on the ground. Deven Thompkins and Brandon Bowling led the charge in the receiving game. Thompkins had five receptions for 67 yards and one touchdown. Bowling hauled in six catches for 60 yards and one TD.

Utah State’s defense struggled as they allowed Levi Williams to throw for 242 yards, two touchdowns and one interception, completing 12 of his 15 pass attempts. Titus Swen and Xazavian Valladay each ran for 100 yards. Swen led the way with 169 yards and two touchdowns. Valladay added 145 yards on the ground.

Through the air, Isaiah Neyor caught four passes for 125 yards and one touchdown.

The Cowboys started the game with a touchdown pass from Williams to Neyor to go up 7-0 early. Utah State responded with a TD catch from Bowling to tie the game with 3:38 left in the first.

Wyoming then returned the kickoff for a 99-yard touchdown to go up 14-7. The Aggies answered with Bonner connecting with Thomkins and the score was tied at 14 to end the first quarter.

Wyoming scored 10 straight points in the second before Connor Coles made a field goal late in the first half. The Cowboys were up 24-17 at the break. Wyoming shutout the Aggies in the second half and scored 17 points in the third, including a 98-yard TD run by Swen. They added a field goal in the fourth quarter to pick up the win.

Utah State dropped their record to 8-3 overall and 5-2 in Mountain West play. They will finish the regular season with a road contest against New Mexico on Friday, November 26. Kickoff is at 11 a.m. MT on FS1 and The Zone Sports Network.
