SALT LAKE CITY – The University of Utah football program made a statement in the game of the year in the Pac-12 with a 38-7 win over No. 3 Oregon.

With the win, Utah has clinched their third Pac-12 South Division title in the last four years.

The Utes took over six minutes off the clock by running 13 plays and going 63 yards for a touchdown that was scored by Tavion Thomas. That was his first of the game and 15th of the season. He is tied for the single season rushing touchdown record at Utah.

Third Quarter

Oregon got the ball to start the third quarter. The Ducks were able to get a touchdown as Anthony Brown found Devon Brown for a 36-yard strike. Utah’s lead was trimmed to 28-7 with 10:02 remaining in the third.

Utah answered with another “grind-out drive,” where they needed 11-plays to get Tavion Thomas into the end zone for the third time in the game. Utah took a 35-7 lead with 3:49 left in the third.
