Lehi Football Cruises Past Springville To Win 5A State Title

SALT LAKE CITY – The Lehi Pioneers ran past the top-seeded Springville Red Devils to win the 5A state championship in high school football.
The No. 7 Pioneers and No. Red Devils played at Rice-Eccles Stadium on Friday, November 19.
Lehi dominated Springville, 35-6.

The Pioneers struck first when River Moore returned an interception to the house with 5:09 remaining in the first quarter.

Early in the second quarter, Lehi scored its first offensive touchdown on a goal line pass from Jackson Brousseau to Jaxon Christensen.

The Red Devils found their only points of the contest midway through the second quarter on a run by Seth Rigtrup.
After that, it was all Pioneers.
Lehi owned a 21-6 lead at halftime and didn’t let up to start the second half.
Brousseau tossed three touchdowns during the third quarter to help the Pioneers take a commanding lead.

With the win, Lehi finished with an 11-3 record. The Pioneers captured their fourth-ever state title and first state championship since 2017.
