The victorious Aggies ran past their fellow Aggies thanks to a dominant first half performance.
During the opening 20 minutes of action, Utah State outscored New Mexico State by 25 points and took a 41-16 lead in the halftime break.
The second half was much more balance as USU outscored NMSU by only two points over the final 20 minutes. However, the first half deficit was too much for the Las Cruses Aggies to overcome.
Utah State finished the game shooting a blazing 56.3 percent overall and 48.3 percent from beyond the arc. Four Aggie players reached double figures in scoring. Rylan Jones led USU with 19 points on 7-8 field goals.
