ESPN Plus is televising the game. If you’re not familiar with ESPN+, this can be your handy guide.

Why is BYU vs. Georgia Southern on ESPN Plus?

Georgia Southern is the home team and is a member of the Sun Belt Conference. The Sun Belt Conference has a TV partnership with ESPN. Through that TV agreement, digital platforms such as ESPN+ are options to televise broadcasts.

BYU has no rights to the broadcast meaning BYU Broadcasting (BYUtv) can not televise the game.

What is ESPN Plus?

ESPN’s Vice President of Digital Programming John Lasker hopped on the Cougar Tracks Podcast in 2019 to discuss the purpose of ESPN+ before BYU’s game against Toledo that season.

“ESPN Plus is ESPN’s premium direct-to-consumer service that launched back in April of 2018. The design around ESPN+ was to give ESPN an opportunity beyond premier television networks to distribute more sports content and serve sports fans better,” said Lasker.

You can stream ESPN Plus content on ESPN’s official app available on various devices, including iPhone.

If you do not want to pay for ESPN+, the radio is always an option. The legacy home of the Cougars, KSL NewsRadio, will begin extended pregame coverage at 10 a.m. on Saturday, with Mitch Harper and Matt Baiamonte getting you ready for kickoff.
