Where BYU, Utah Rank In Latest College Football Playoff Rankings

SALT LAKE CITY – The third installment of the College Football Playoff rankings is out.
Utah moved up one spot from No. 24 to No. 23 after defeating the Arizona Wildcats. It sets up a massive matchup this weekend against the Oregon Ducks, who remained at No. 3 in the latest rankings.
Saturday’s game is expected to be the first of two games between the Utes and Ducks as both teams lead their respective divisions in the Pac-12 Conference.

BYU at 8-2 overall coming off a bye week remained at No. 14 in the rankings. The Cougars were jumped by SEC’s Ole Miss who launched from No. 15 to No. 12 after defeating the Texas A&M Aggies.
In order for BYU to get in the at-large pool for the New Year’s Six they need to get into the top 12 of the rankings. Oklahoma and Ole Miss are currently the two teams in front of them. One of BYU’s two losses, Baylor, sits at No. 11 at 8-2.

BYU is back in action this Saturday when they take on the Georgia Southern Eagles from the Sun Belt Conference. The Eagles are 3-7 overall. It’s BYU’s first-ever trip to Statesboro, Georgia.
BYU then closes out the regular season on November 27 against the USC Trojans in Los Angeles.
