Utah Valley Upsets Pepperdine In Overtime Thriller

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Valley Wolverines upset the Pepperdine Waves in overtime for their second win of the 2021-22 season.
The Waves hosted the Wolverines at Firestone Fieldhouse in Malibu, California on Monday, November 15.
UVU upset Pepperdine with an 86-74 overtime win.

The Waves controlled the first half of play and owned a six-point lead at the halftime break.
Utah Valley fought back during the final 20 minutes of regulation and closed the second half on a 6-0 run to force overtime.
Pepperdine owned a 71-65 advantage with 1:46 remaining in the second half before UVU went on its run.
With one second left in regulation, Wolverines guard Connor Harding knocked down a game-tying three-pointer to send the game into overtime.
During the extra period, the Wolverines outscored the Waves, 15-3.

Utah Valley finished the game shooting 50.8 percent overall and 60.0 percent from beyond the arc. Fardaws Aimaq led the Wolverines with 34 points and 14 rebounds. Harding added 18 points.
With the victory, the Wolverines improved their record to 2-1 this season.
UVU’s next game is against Long Beach State on Wednesday, November 17 at 8 p.m. (MDT). The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
