Weber State Shuts Out Rival Southern Utah On The Road

CEDAR CITY, Utah – The Weber State Wildcats had a dominating performance with a 62-0 shutout win on the road against Southern Utah.
Weber State had two touchdowns in the first quarter before dropping 31 in the second quarter to take a 45-0 halftime lead. The Wildcats added one TD in the third and closed out the game with 10 points in the fourth quarter.
Bronson Barron completed 13 of his 18 pass attempts for 225 yards and three touchdowns. Five Weber State players rushed for over 30 yards but none of them reached 100 after racking up 220 yards on the ground.
Rashid Shaheed hauled in three catches for 125 yards and two touchdowns. For Southern Utah, Justin Miller threw for 55 yards and three interceptions.
Weber State started with a three-yard TD pass from Creyton Cooper to Hayden Meacham. Minutes later, Barron found Shaheed for a 47-yard strike.

Dontae McMillan started the second quarter with a short TD run followed by a fumble recovery in the end zone by Eddie Heckard.
Sione Lapuaho ran in a score midway through the second to give WSU a 35-0 lead. Then Barron and Shaheed connected for a second time, this time on an 8-yard pass. Kyle Thompson made a 48-yard field goal as time expired in the first half.
Meacham scored his second touchdown of the game after getting a four-yard pass from Barron. Thompson added a 36-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter to make it 55-0 before Damon Bankston had a six-yard TD with two minutes to play.
Weber State improved their record to 5-5 overall and 4-3 in Big Sky play. They will return home for their regular season finale and senior day on Saturday, November 20 against Northern Colorado. The game will begin at 1 p.m. MT and will be streamed on ESPN+ and heard on 103.1 FM “The Wave.”
Southern Utah finishes their season with a 1-10 overall record and 0-8 in Big Sky pllay.
