Grantsville Comes From Behind To Beat Morgan, Win 3A State Title

SALT LAKE CITY – The Grantsville Cowboys scored a fourth quarter touchdown to beat the Morgan Trojans and earn the 3A state title in high school football.
The Cowboys and Trojans played at Weber State University’s Stewart Stadium on Saturday, November 13.
Grantsville defeated Morgan, 14-10.

The Cowboys struck first with a three-yard touchdown run by Caleb Sullivan in the first quarter.
Morgan held Grantsville scoreless over the next two quarters of action and took the lead late in the third quarter. The Trojans’ first score of the game came on a Will Korth touchdown run with 3:55 remaining until the fourth quarter. Three and half minutes later, a 41-yard field goal by Beau Johnson put Morgan in front.
With 8:38 left to play, Sullivan burst for seven yards and his second touchdown of the contest. The score was the go-ahead touchdown and winning score for the Cowboys.

With the victory, Grantsville finished the season with a 10-3 record and the 3A state championship trophy.
