Utah Valley Cruises Past Antelope Valley For First Win

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Valley Wolverines soundly defeated the Antelope Valley Pioneers for their first victory of the 2021-22 season.
The Wolverines hosted the Pioneers at UCCU Center on Friday, November 12.
UVU beat Antelope Valley, 82-48.
The Pioneers started the game with a layup 25 seconds into the first half. After that, the Wolverines went on a 9-0 run to take control of the scoreboard.

Midway through the first half, UVU had stretched its lead to more than 20 points.
At halftime, the Wolverines owned a 47-22 advantage.
Utah Valley wasn’t as crisp in the second half, but Antelope Valley’s deficit was too much for the visiting Pioneers to overcome.
The Wolverines outscored the Pioneers by nine points over the final 20 minutes to capture the 34-point win.

Utah Valley finished the contest shooting 50.0 percent from the field, including 48.3 percent from three-point range.
Fardaws Aimaq led the Wolverines with a big double-double that featured 25 points and 15 rebounds.

With the win, the Wolverines improved a 1-1 record this season.
Utah Valley’s next game is on the road against the Pepperdine Waves on Monday, November 15 at 8 p.m. (MDT).
