Lehi Punches Ticket To 5A Title Game With Win Over Stansbury

SALT LAKE CITY – The Lehi Pioneers punched their way to the 5A state championship game in high school football with a win over the Stansbury Stallions.
The No. 7 Pioneers and No. 3 Stallions played the semifinal contest at Rice-Eccles Stadium on Thursday, November 11.
Lehi captured a 28-14 win.
The win moved Lehi into its third championship game since 2000. The Pioneers won the state title in their last two championship game appearances.

After the Stallions jumped out to a 7-0 lead to open the game, the Pioneers responded with a pair of touchdowns during a three-minute stretch to take a 14-7 lead into the second quarter.
Eight seconds into the second quarter, Lehi scored its third touchdown to go up 21-7.
The Stallions scored for the second time late in the first half to make it a 21-14 game at halftime.
Lehi tacked on another touchdown during the third quarter and held Stansbury scoreless over the final 24 minutes of action to capture the semifinal victory.
Pioneers quarterback Jackson Brousseau tossed three touchdown passes in the game.
Jaxon Christensen was on the receiving end on two of Brousseau’s scoring throws. Boston Bingham also had a touchdown catch for the Pioneer.
Carson Gonzalez ran in a touchdown for Lehi.
Ezra Harris led the Stallions with two passing touchdowns.
Lehi will face No. 1 Springville in the championship game on Friday, November 19 at 11 a.m. (MDT). The title game will take place at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
