Springville Scores TD As Time Expires, Advances To 5A Title Game

SALT LAKE CITY – The Springville Red Devils advanced to the 5A state championship game for high school football after scoring a go-ahead touchdown as time expired in the semifinals against the Orem Tigers.
The No. 1 Red Devils and No. 21 Tigers played the semifinal contest at Rice-Eccles Stadium on Thursday, November 11.
Springville defeated Orem, 27-26.
The Red Devils trailed the Tigers by five points late in the fourth quarter before Ryder Burton connected with Walker Deede for a 10-yard touchdown as time ran out.

The last-second score moved Springville into the 5A title game.
Burton finished the game with three passing touchdowns. Bradey Mortensen, Cole Clement, and Deede were on the receiving end of Burton’s touchdown tosses.

Seth Rigtrup added a rushing touchdown for the Red Devils.
Chase Tuatagaloa led Orem with two passing touchdowns.
It was the 11th victory by the Red Devils this season.
Springville will face No. 7 Lehi in the championship game on Friday, November 19 at 11 a.m. (MDT). The title game will take place at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
