Weber State Drops100 Points In Season Opening Win Over Western Colorado

OGDEN, Utah – The Weber State Wildcats had things clicking on offense in their 100-60 blowout win over Western Colorado in their season opener.
It was a close first half with Weber State outscoring WCU 47-35 in the first half before dropping 53 points and holding them to 25 in the second half.
Utah Valley transfer J.J. Overton led the charge with 18 points for the Wildcats. Seikou Sisoho-Jawara dropped 17 points, while former Utah State guard Koby McEwen had 16 points in his Weber State debut.
Dillon Jones recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Cody Carlson and Zahir Porter each added 10 points. The Wildcats were very effective scoring the ball, shooting 60% from the field and had 60 points in the paint. They attempted just 12 three-pointers, making five of them for 41%. WSU also made 19 of their 31 attempts at the free throw line.

Western Colorado had two players reach double figures, led by Matthew Ragsdale with 19 points. Avery Rembao added 12 points in the loss.
Weber State improved their record to 1-0 on the season. They will head to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to battle Duquesne on Monday, November 15 at 5 p.m. MT on ESPN+ and 103.1 FM “The Wave.”
