Deven Thompkins Walks Into End Zone To Give Utah State The Lead

SALT LAKE CITY – Utah State wide receiver Deven Thompkins is single handedly keeping the Aggies in the ball game against New Mexico State on Saturday.
After Utah State trailed 13-7 at the halftime break, they came out and scored a touchdown in less than a minute into the second half. Logan Bonner threw a 54-yard TD pass to Deven Thompkins to put the Aggies ahead 14-13.
It’s the second touchdown grab of the game for Thompkins and the second TD pass for Bonner of the game. The two connected early in the second quarter on a 26-yard strike to cut the NMSU lead to 10-7.

That third quarter TD grab by Thompkins put him over 100 yards receiving in the game and 2,000 career yards. He is the 11th USU player to surpass 2,000 career receiving yards in school history.

After that drive, Thompkins had seven receptions for 146 yards and two touchdowns. Bonner completed 13 of his 21 pass attempts for 201 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.
The Aggies of Utah State got the ball back and Derek Wright caught a four-yard TD to put them ahead 21-13 with 9:36 left in the third quarter.
