BYU RB Tyler Allgeier Starts Senior Day With 17th Rushing TD In 2021

PROVO, Utah – BYU star RB Tyler Allgeier started senior day off versus Idaho State on the right foot for the Cougars with a rushing touchdown on their first drive.
The TD by Allgeier was the first one of the afternoon and a nation-leading 17th this season. It was an 11-yard score to give BYU a 7-0 lead with 9:38 remaining in the first quarter.
That score capped a 9-play, 75-yard drive after BYU forced Idaho State to punt on their first possession of the game. Allgeier is inching closer to Luke Staley’s mark of 24 touchdowns.

Jaren Hall completed three of his four pass attempts for 24 yards. He found Neil Pau’u twice for 14 yards and Samson Nacua once for 10 yards. Allgeier needed just three rushing attempts to find the end zone, racking up 19 yards. Jaren Hall added an eight-yard gain and Lopini Katoa had a four-yard run.
