PROVO, Utah – Former Timpview edge rusher Logan Fano is one of the highest-rated signees in the 21st century of BYU football.
He will make his much-anticipated debut during the 2022 season. The former four-star recruit posted photos in the new BYU helmets and uniform combinations on Tuesday via his personal social media accounts.

Fano was serving a mission in the Texas San Antonio mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints after graduating from Timpview. But now, he has returned home and has his eyes set on contributing next year for BYU.
Fano will enroll this January and compete in spring ball, where he is projected to compete at the outside linebacker position.
During his senior year at Timpview in 2020, the 6-foot-4, 225-pound Fano racked up 115 tackles, 20.5 sacks, and two interceptions. One of which was returned for a touchdown.
Fano turned down Utah, Washington, Oklahoma, and Michigan to sign with BYU. He also held offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, Nebraska, Virginia, Washington State, Wisconsin, among others.
Fano was one of the youngest recruits Kalani Sitake’s program offered when he first became the head coach in 2016. BYU extended an offer to Fano in eighth grade, and he committed on the spot. He then de-committed from BYU before later reaffirming his commitment after the Cougars put together a season that had them ranked No. 11 in the final AP Top 25 poll a season ago.
“I feel like I committed really early, and I wanted to take a step back and make sure I was making the best decision for myself. That happened to be at BYU,” Fano said to KSL Sports in December 2020. “Just looking back at everything, I took everything in beyond just football. The outside of football life and all of that stuff, considering it really; pushed me back towards recommitting to Coach Kalani and BYU.”
Since the year 2000, Fano rates as the 23rd highest-rated recruit that has signed with BYU football.
Fano has a younger brother, Spencer Fano, who rates even higher in the 247Sports Composite ratings than Logan. Spencer Fano is a four-star 2023 recruit from Timpview who has offers from BYU, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee, USC, and others.
