PROVO, Utah – The BYU defense came up with a big takeaway and the offense took advantage with a touchdown by Tyler Allgeier.
The 31 yard touchdown run by Allgeier put the Cougars ahead 59-49 in the 4th quarter.
BYU Takes Advantage of Virginia Turnover
Coming off of a BYU scoring drive, the Cavaliers started their drive on their own 25 yard line. On the first play of the drive, Wayne Taulapapa ran for six yards before fumbling the ball. Uriah Leiataua recovered the ball and put the offense in great field position.
The offense got the ball at the Virginia 31 yard line and immediately went to work. After an incompletion by Jaren Hall, Aaron Roderick put the ball in the hands of their best player: Tyler Allgeier. Allgeier did what he has done all day, break off big runs. He cut it up the left side for a 31 yard touchdown run. It was Allgeier’s fourth rushing touchdown of the game.
