After the BYU defense forced a three and out on the opening drive of the game, the offense started their drive at their own 17 yard line. It was all Jaren Hall on the drive, opening up with a deep shot to Samson Nacua for a 52-yard completion. After two quick passes to the brothers Samson and Puka Nacua, Hall keep the option run and scored from two yards out.
After scoring only 21 points last week against Washington State, the BYU offense got the start they needed. Jaren Hall only threw the ball 20 times a week ago in Pullman, but it appears offensive coordinator Aaron Roderick wants to get him going early in this game.
Hall has found the deep connections often the last few weeks. He completed multiple deep shots to Puka Nacua against Baylor two weeks ago. His brother, Samson, must have been watching the film. The elder Nacua made a great catch to stun the Virginia defense early and flip the field for BYU.
BYU’s offense will need to put up points tonight against Virginia. The Cavaliers have one of the best offenses in the country.
