BYU COUGARS
Tyler Allgeier Runs Wild As BYU Spoils Bronco’s Return With Virginia

PROVO, Utah – The sixth meeting all-time featuring BYU vs Virginia kicks off tonight at LaVell Edwards Stadium here in Utah Valley. This matchup is the first meeting between the two schools since 2014, and it marks the return of former BYU head coach Bronco Mendenhall.
Both teams enter the game with 6-2 records. BYU comes into the matchup with a No. 25 ranking in the AP Top 25.
Although the Cougars have won four games this season against Power Five opponents, the Cavaliers are the fifth team the Cougars face from a power league.
In year six under Bronco Mendenhall, Virginia has exceeded everyone’s expectations by reaching bowl eligibility through the first eight games and won four consecutive ACC games. In addition, the Hoos boast the nation’s number one passing quarterback in Brennan Armstrong, who has thrown for 3,220 yards.
BYU won the last meeting between the two programs back in 2014. However, Virginia got the upper hand the previous year in 2013 and leads the all-time series 3-2.
