USU’s Deven Thompkins, Shaq Bond Named Mountain West Player Of The Week

LOGAN, Utah – The Mountain West Conference announced their Players of the Week and Utah State was well-represented after their comeback win over UNLV.
Utah State wide receiver Deven Thompkins was named Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week while safety Shaq Bond earned Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors.
The Aggies needed a last minute touchdown to pick up a 28-24 win over UNLV.

This is the first player of the week honors for both Thompkins and Bond. Thompkins had 12 receptions for 180 yards and two touchdowns in the win. Bond led the team with nine tackles, including six solo tackles and a half a tackle for loss while getting two interceptions.
The second pick came with 10 seconds to play in the game to seal the win at Allegiant Stadium.
Utah State improved their record to 4-2 overall and 2-1 in Mountain West Conference play. They will return to Merlin Olsen Field at Maverik Stadium on Friday, October 22 at 7:30 p.m. MT on CBS Sports Network and heard on The Zone Sports Network.
