USU Safety Shaq Bond Receives MWC Defensive Player of the Week Honor

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – College Sports Madness named Utah State safety Shaq Bond as the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week following his performance in the Aggies’ win over the UNLV Rebels.
The Rebels hosted the Aggies at Allegiant Stadium on Saturday, October 16.
Bond helped USU to a 28-24 victory.
The senior safety recorded a team-high nine tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss, and a career-high two interceptions during the comeback win.

With the win, Utah State improved to a 3-0 start in road contests for the first time since 1978.
Overall, Bond and the Aggies moved to 4-2 on the season, including a 2-1 record in Mountain West Conference play.
Utah State’s next game is at home against the Colorado State Rams on Friday, October 22 at 7:30 p.m. (MDT). The game will broadcast on CBS Sports Network and The Zone Sports Network 1280 AM.
