SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah’s Tony Finau is two rounds into the first event of the 2021/22 season and sits 13 shots behind the leader Keith Mitchell with the weekend to play.
It is Finau’s eighth consecutive season on the PGA Tour and this year he has debuted a pair of fresh new sneakers to waltz the fairways in. This week Finau is debuting the Air Jordan 1 low top’s, much to the joy of sneakerheads around the world.

Finau, 32, is playing at the Summit Golf Club in Las Vegas, Nevada at The CJ Cup. It is not only his first event of the 2021/22 PGA Tour season but also his first event since his team USA victory at Whistling Straits when he played a key role in returning the Ryder Cup to United States soil.
Finau’s first round consisted of a bogey-free four-under-par, but that all changed on Friday when his scorecard reflected a round similar to an average weekend golfer. Finau notched four bogey’s, three birdies, and an eagle to conclude his second round at one-under-par and five-under on the tournament.

The highlight of the second round came on the par 5 6th hole when left himself just 305 yards in the middle of the fairway for his second shot, he then came up 13 yards short of the green but in a good lie in the fairway, before he chipped in for an eagle.
The topsy-turvy round was expected from Finau considering the time he spent away from the professional circuit following last month’s Ryder Cup heroics. During the break, Finau was spotted spending time with family and friends on golf courses around the state of Utah and neighboring states.
Saturday’s round will be shared alongside Marc Leishman and K.H. Lee with a tee time scheduled for 9:31 a.m.
