Dixie State Falls To Montana After Slow Start

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Dixie State football team fell to the Montana Grizzlies after a slow start put the Trailblazers behind the eight ball.
The Grizzlies hosted the Trailblazers at Washington-Grizzly Stadium in Missoula, Montana on Saturday, October 9.
Montana defeated Dixie State, 31-14.

After a scoreless opening quarter, the Grizzlies made a field goal before halftime to take a 3-0 lead into the locker room at the break.
In the third quarter, Montana scored a pair of touchdowns to take a 17-0 lead into the final 15 minutes.
During the opening minutes of the fourth quarter, the Grizzlies scored again and took a commanding 24-0 lead.
Dixie State finally got on the scoreboard thanks to a fumble return for a touchdown by Devin Chandler with 7:37 left in the game.

After the Grizzlies scored another touchdown to go up 31-7, the Trailblazers scored the final points of the contest on a three-yard touchdown from Kenyon Oblad to Cade Veach with 1:32 left on the clock.
Oblad finished the game 16/30 passing for 208 yards, one touchdown, and an interception
With the loss, the Trailblazers fell to 0-5 on the season.
Dixie State’s next game is at home against the Tarleton State Texans on Saturday, October 16 at 7 p.m. (MDT). The game will be televised on ESPN+.
