No. 3 Lone Peak Snaps No. 1 Corner Canyon’s Big Winning Streak

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The No. 3 Lone Peak Knights defeated No. 1 Corner Canyon and snapped the Chargers’ 48-game winning streak.
The Chargers hosted the Knights on Thursday, October 7.
Lone Peak soundly defeated Corner Canyon, 41-16.
The loss snapped a 48-game winning streak by the Chargers. Corner Canyon’s last previous defeat was in November 2017.

After both teams traded field goals and touchdowns in the first half, the Knights owned a 13-10 lead at halftime.
Lone Peak opened the second half with three unanswered touchdowns to stretch its lead.
The Chargers scored midway through the fourth quarter but were unable to overcome the multiple score deficit.
Lone Peak added an exclamation point with a touchdown in the final minute of action. The Knights’ Jaxson Willits and Luke Durfey each scored a pair of touchdowns in the game.
With the result, the Knights improved to a 5-2 record this season and the Chargers fell to 7-1.
Lone Peak’s next game is against the Westlake Thunder on Wednesday, October 13 at 7 p.m. (MDT).
Corner Canyon’s next game is against the Pleasant Grove Vikings on Wednesday, October 13 at 7 p.m. (MDT).
