SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Real Salt Lake forward Chris Garcia, 18, has returned to the United States early following a season-ending knee injury sustained while on loan with Ljungskile SK in Sweden’s first division.
On August 10th it was announced that Garcia would join Ljungskile on loan. During his stint, he appeared in only three games before suffering the knee injury. Garcia started two games for Ljungskile FC and made one appearance off the bench on August 14th shortly after his arrival.

The extent of the injury is unknown, however, Ljungskile SK manager Jörgen Wålemark stated that the injury “does not look good,” when he spoke with Swedish media outlet Bohusläningen earlier this week.
Garcia had struggled to find the pitch at the Major League Soccer level after securing just one appearance against Vancouver on September 19, 2020. Since then, he has seen action in three Real Monarchs fixtures.
